Kade's New Adventure

I honestly can't remember what or if I posted about this, looking quickly through the posts I can't see anything. Over a month and a half ago, Kade was offered a job at a place called PRB Oil. They are a gas station that delivers fuel to farmers. Our brother-in-law Jake (Trecia's husband) works for his dad who is a part owner. The offered to match Kade's wage to work in the store where they sell feed and parts. They told him if he decided to get his CDL he could deliver fuel and get a nice pay BUMP. I'm proud to brag that Kade studied and practiced driving and got his CDL with all the endorsements. 

He would probably be embarrassed to see that I posted this, but I am so excited. Some people actually pay to take a class to have an instructor help them learn to drive a semi but he just went for it and passed it.

So, apart from that we are getting some small projects around the house done in hopes to sell it and buy a home in Blackfoot. Or somewhere closer. Our kitchen is currently half torn apart and will look amazing when this weekend is over!!!

We have to stain and poly the cabinets and put the upper ones in. And we haven't finished putting bead board on the other half if the kitchen. So still a lot to do but it feels brighter and better. I'm sure I will do a whole post on this later, it's exciting and I'm loving the new feel!

My husband has really been busy, I'm so blessed to have him!

This weekends project 10.11.14

First off happy birthday to beautiful Emma, you are such a sweet and fun girl. I was thinking of you all day. I can always remember your birthday because I was baptized on this day 17 years ago. CRAZY, how time flys.

I have been looking at our front room wall for a while. I was really unsure what I wanted to do with it. Our tv cabinet although I love it is small and I wanted more decorating options. 

This was the previous setup when we lived here before...I wanted to be able to hang more decorations.

SOOOO.....I found some great inspiration on Pinterest and even got Kade to tell me what he wanted/liked. Let's face it, he did the majority of the work! He is pretty handy and sweet to boot!

Kade was a huge fan of the chains so those had to be included in our shelves. 

This was what we planned, plus some chains. I however didn't love it. After we looked around some more we found this idea

and came up with adding more wood 1x4s to the front and sides giving it a more floating shelves look. 

I was in love!  I would have been fine leaving them this way but....

We still wanted to add chains not just to stabilize these shelves but to add some character. 

My husband was brilliant and nailed a boarded underneath to hide the router. It's a little shelf on the left where the grey cord hangs out. 

We ran our tv coards through the wall a couple years ago. So the DVD player is the only coards that sticks out. And I put the ottomans in front to make it less obvious. 

I'm so excited and so happy with how it turned out!!!! Now for more decorating!

Playing Catch Up (Our CraZy August of 14)

I am so behind on this blog and I am sure things are not going to calm down anytime soon.  That means that I will just have to post what I can, when I can.

So much has happened and it all happened at the same time.  Kade was offered a new job in Blackfoot that started the 11th of August, just 15 days before my due date.  After much pondering and prayer we decided this would be the best decision for our family's future.  There was only two weeks before the new job started so...we looked around for a place to live and couldn't find anything very affordable. We were very sad at our findings.  If you recall we own a home in Idaho Falls, close to the temple, that has had renters in it for over two years.

After more prayer, and tears from the prego lady, we felt a push to move back into our home.  We had to give a month notice and so that put us not being able to move in until the first part of September.  This was so close to my due date, so more tears and stress from me.  We felt so much guidance for this move, but it was still hard to accept, even if it was what we needed to do.

We had to figure out what to do next, because we had nowhere to live for 3ish weeks.  I didn't want to live with family because I know how stressful and hard that can be.  I really didn't want to step on toes and be in everyone's hair.  We were in everyone's hair anyway, even if I didn't want it that way.

Kade's parents were so kind and let us borrow their very nice RV, which we parked in my sisters yard for those three weeks.  ~Now the last weeks of pregnancy are super long, this made things even longer and more stretched out. ~  Between my sisters house and my parents we survived.  We had our own place but we had family to make times better.  My kids had a blast being so close to my family for so long, but man I know it wore everyone else out. 

On Saturday, August 23rd, three days before my due date, Kade had a day off so we headed up to box up the trailer house.  Word traveled fast through the ward and before 4 o'clock that day we were ready to move out. I was in shock with how much love and support we received. We have never been able to get a house packed that fast. 

Only problem, we still didn't have a place to move, the renters did end up moving out faster then originally planned and on the 29th (3 days past due date) we were given the green light to move in. 

There were some problems, they had pets, and the house reeked!  They had the carpets cleaned 2x's and it still stunk soooo bad.  We pulled up the carpets and white washed the floors and all the walls in the effected areas.  They had painted the kitchen and I hate the new color, so it still needs work, but we left that for later.  The house is mostly white now with new smelling carpet, it made a huge difference. We were sad we had to do so much work, it caused us to push back our move in date, plus carpet isn't' cheap! :(

My due date came and went, almost a whole week.

I ended up going into labor the last day in August, Lex wanted to make sure that the month of August was as long and drawn out as possible ;)
I ended up giving birth to him on the day that I originally told everyone I was due.  I always go over and I hate when people text and call asking if I have had a baby yet.  So, I just went a week past my due date and told everyone that date...I am a better guesser then the ultrasound.  :D Lex is a lucky boy, he shares his Birthday with Paul and Annie's Anniversary.  It really fits because they were so kind to let us crash for so long at their house, it is a tribute to their awesomeness.

We were still living in the RV when I went into labor.  After Lex was born we stayed at my parents house so they could help me with kids.  Carpet was installed the 5th of September.  On the 6th of September everything was loaded, moved, and put into our home, lots of boxes! On Tuesday the 9th we went up and spent our first night.  Finally, a place of our own!

Basically, there is no progress with the unpacking.  There is so much to unpack and put away, but I'm just sitting here holding my baby and soaking in his baby smell.  I love baby snuggles.  

Carpet Time!

YES! We officially have carpet back into our trailer.  It looks great, I am excited! Although it is light, it isn't as light as in the pictures it is a tan color. If you look at the last picture of the blue room, it is more accurate because there isn't as much sunlight overexposing the picture.

And I would have loved to gotten a darker color, but the darker the more expensive.

So, more problems came up.  Kade has to redo the plumbing in most of the house, so we are waiting for that.  But we have a new toilet installed, although I don't have a picture. HAHA imagine that.

We also I working on finishing (staining) our cabinets.  So, we won't move in until I have revamped our kitchen.  But I would say a week or two until we are living in Monteview.

So, as always nothing goes as planned and there is always more work then initially anticipated, but we are excited that the carpet is in and that the house already has a different look/feel. :D

I would put before and after pictures of the kids room, but I am hoping we will get more done in their soon.  Along with our living room furniture, with taxes we were able to buy a crib for Addyson.  With two kids so close together, you get double duty on the BIG stuff.  Both of the cribs are matching, and turn into toddler beds, so Drakes may get converted soon. 

Anyway, Drake enjoyed helping Kade put together little sisters crib.  He is such a good helper!

Okay, so Drake was mostly in the way.  But it was a fun family activity. 

Taxes ~ Living Room 2012

Last year when we got our tax refund we ended up using it for bills and other unfun things.  For a whole year we have been excited to get a refund, because we had decided what we wanted to buy with it.  A big screen TV, yes there was something smarter we could have done with our money, like save it.  We have wanted this for a while and we waited till we had the money instead of borrowing it.  And really we watch a lot of TV, so it has been nice to be able to actually see what I am trying to watch.

So this years tax money went to our living room makeover.  I love the way it looks now!

We got a new couch, TV stand, new decor, and a new TV.

Now there is basically nothing in this space, you can just walk in the front door to the dinning room.

So much furniture, blocking the door.  And my very cute curtains, but  I replaced them.

Now you can walk through the door without running into a chair.  OH, and we got a new dead bolt. :D  It has a key pad.

Now this wall is pretty to look at.   My husband ran all the tv wires through the wall.  He made it  look awesome.  And even though the tv doesn't look center between the picture and the mirror in this picture, it is.  Just hard to get a good shot in a small room. :D
