I am back! No more 12-16 hour days of cutting hay. Honestly, this crop went by faster and went so much better. I can only hope that 3rd crop will be the best (3rd time's the charm). I think I am getting better at this job, although I still am not very great.
I learned that in order to not be so sore from bouncing all day, to put on some essential oil (deep blue, peppermint). I was still sore but it was totally manageable and doable. Although, I didn't get pictures of me actually swathing, I got one of the pretty sky from my phone :)
Beautiful Monteview, my soon to be backyard view
This crop I got to do a little raking, that was an experience. Kaitlyn, my niece trained me and we were laughing by the end of it, what a great memory! As we were getting close to finishing a field I looked at the gas gauge and realized we were low on fuel. I told Kait, "I think we are almost out of gas." As soon as I said that the pickup chugged and died. :) We were dying of laughter, although the big boss man probably didn't love having to drive fuel to the truck.
This crop was more fun, I had some great experiences, and learned how much I love the Sauer family. I'm lucky to have such great people in my life.
Now, we are going to try to get moved in and get me ready for school at the end of the month...it never slows down.
