January 2016

How is it already a new year? As always I am waiting for life to slow down but am surprised to find out that it NEVER does.

I was just at a church training meeting and a thought was shared. When we recognize all the good we are doing we often have some destructive thoughts as well. These thoughts often are a list of all the things we haven't done or didn't do as well as we could have. We often tear ourselves down when we do any good instead of being excited for our accomplishments. And it's easy to do because there is always something we can do better, but we need to rejoice in the good things we do too. We are not enough on our own but the atonement is always there to fill us and we are never alone.

This

Is the story that was shared. And it touched my heart.

A weakness of mine is comparison. My awesome friend wrote a blog post yesterday. I so enjoyed it and I thought I to myself that I needed to write one, I'm not nearly as busy as she is. And then came all the things I clearly don't do well as she does and that she is just amazing and I'm not.

And today as I'm sitting in my meeting I can't help but think of how I'm failing to teach my 3 kids to be reverent in the church. They run and scream down the hall...I miss half of the talking points because I am changing diapers, feeding, or scolding.

I often am reminded, all day, how I'm not enough. I'm hoping God will continue to have patience with me because I'm learning.

We all know, even I know, these thoughts are LIES.

This year I'm REALLY trying to replace any negative thought about myself with this phrase. That isn't true, I am ______,_____,and_______ because our (my) brains need to be re-wired. When we tell ourselves something that isn't true or exaggerated about ourselves negatively it just brings depression and more negativity. We need to correct it, not dwell on it.  It isn't true that I'm failing as a mother, I am kind, creative, and more than enough.

Soooo the take away. You are awesome and we all need the reminder that God loves us and he intends to have as many of his children saved as possible. Keep doing your best, because it is enough. And you are more than enough.

Do you have some goals for this year?

New Years 2016

This year was low key, we were invited to a few parties but we didn't want to leave our kids out.
Jake got a smoker for Christmas and Kade really wanted to try it.  The steaks turned out AMAZING!  We had a few appetizers and watched a few movies.

Kade fell asleep at about 10 and I woke him up for a NEW YEAR KISS!

Lex kept taking his shirt of HAHA.

Happy New Year! I am hoping to work on my health, all around, especially my mental health. I am ready for a great 2016.

Here Kitty Kitty

About a week ago I was driving on the highway into Blackfoot and there was a kitten standing in the road. He wasn't close to any houses and I was afraid someone would run him over. I stopped the car and walked toward him, expecting him to be wild and run away, instead he ran towards me. I picked him up and and let the kids hold him while we ran errands and decided to pick up litter and food. We are keeping him inside at least until it warms up a little and if he can scare some mice away in the process I'm good with that. But a day after we brought him inside, Kade found another kitten right outside our house. It was crying he was very hungry and very people friendly. So one kitten in the house turned into two. If we can have them grow up a little in the house to help them survive I'm very happy to let them in a while. Addy plays with the white one all day some days. We have to keep them from Lex because he is mean but loves them and cries if he can't hold one. Drake is pretty indifferent about it.  Drake is enjoying making it Addys chore to feed them, he tells me chores are good for kids :)

Corn Maze

We got free tickets through Kade's work so we went this year. They had lots of fun things and my kids had a blast. You had to carry them to the car because they didn't want to leave. :)

After completing the maze!

The older two on the tractor ride.

Kade and Drake sliding

Addyson sliding, Kade didn't get me in the pic ;)

Posing because they weren't strong enough to actually swing them.

They loved the big bouncy house and slide.

They had so much fun, next year we will pick a very warm day and stay a long time.

Halloween 2015

We were really last minute this year figuring out costumes, so we let the kids chose at Walmart. After the two oldest both chose a superhero we decided the rest of us would be superheroes as well. Kade and I just wore t-shirts. Addyson's was my favorite, she put on her mask and you almost couldn't recognize her. :)

We went to my extended family Pincock Halloween Party. Then our ward had a trunk or treat. The kids also wore their outfits to the library and preschool. I feel like they wore them for a week straight. It made me feel better about buying them this year.

I miss my friend!

Part of this last year has been a haze. Although, I have struggled, I know two people have struggled more. But I still DO struggle, even if not at the same capacity my feelings are still relevant, even if only to myself.

I lost a brother this year...and even tho not by death the loss is still very real. I will never get to see him in the same way. We will not chat at family party's or see each other on special occasions. The world isn't the same and I can't wrap my head around it...still...after some time. It has rocked me....

Time, is the only thing I can think of that will help me heal, but it moves so slow.

I love and miss you, and I wish I could help you heal as well. You will always be my brother and always be my friend.

EISF 2015

We braved the fair this year. Kade's work had a booth and he got me in free for a night or two, 5 and under are free so we thought why not?!?

We made a deal with the kids they could choose one ride. Drake wanted a train ride and Addyson was obsessed with the Ferris wheel. I don't know how she even knew what one was, but when we started talking about visiting the fair that is ALL she could talk about. We let them each ride the train and we all, except Lex road the Ferris wheel.
The kids had to have an adult with them to ride. So naturally girls and boys split up.

I fully expected her to cry because it was high and pretty fast....instead she loved it and was majorly bummed when it slowed down to unload.

This is the little train...I guess u can't see what they are riding on.
Trecia and Jake helped with kids!!! They were awesome.

We had fun, got cotton candy (which they hatted) and some Carmel apples.
