Summer Heat

Basically our house almost caught on fire today!  OKAY, I am exaggerating.  We own a corner lot, so you can see into your front yard and backyard if you drive or walk by.  This is annoying because if we so much as park in the wrong place in our backyard we get a note from the city saying that you better move it or we will be fined.  DUMB.  This is what we get for living in the city.  ANYWAY.  Today we were cleaning our yard because we had a complaint about some fencing in our yard...to tell you the truth our yard had gotten pretty messy.  With Kade gathering things from peoples homes and him having no time to finish half done projects, it got quite messy.  So, we needed to clean our yard...but I was complaining because I hate being forced to do things....always have always will.  When I was grudgingly cleaning the backyard I noticed our neighbors backyard.  He had this massive stack of firewood that was messy and really old.  I don't think he has used it in the 3 years we have lived here.  I kind of got grumpy because he has a mess too but because it is firewood it can be as messy as he wants.  You are allowed to have firewood in your yard, but not fence posts.

Around noon a neighbor calls me up and said, "hey, did you know there is a fire in your back yard?"  UM WHAT!  The fire inspector declared that it was arson, and that someone perposly set the neihgbors old firewod on fire.  It was old wood, and very dry, plus there is coton in ther air from the trees...so it lit up pretty good.  There were 2 firetrucks at our house.  We share a fence line with this neighbor and it burned up some of our lawn.

This morning we mowed our very long dry grass and weeds.  We put away a lot of wood that was laying on the fence line,  we moved a gas can full of gas off from the fence to the garage.  Who knew that a threat from the city to clean up our lawn was a blessing in disguise?  Okay, so no one knows if it would have burned our house down, but this morning we had really long grass and a lot of flammable things on our fence line that went strait to our home.

No one knows who started the fire, they think maybe some neighborhood kids...all I know is that we are lucky nothing important was burned.

I am bummed I didn't get any firetruck pictures :(

I am grateful that I am blessed and kept out of harms way.  Our family is truely bessed, today could have turned out a lot different if we wouldn't have listend to the city :D

Workin and Mowin

I feel like summer is finally here, big thanks to school being out!

The last week has flown by, and I am hoping things will slow down.  I want school to stay over as long as possible.  The kids and I have spent a lot of time with Kade, and it has been WONDERFUL.  With Kade's job he does a lot of driving, although I enjoy being with him when he works, he doesn't feel the same way though.  When the kids are with us, it makes a long car ride longer.  So, it is hard for him to want to take us...he loves the company, hates the crying, wining, and crankiness.

We sure do love our Kade and all he does for his little family.  He is such a hard worker, bringing home the bacon.  He is always willing to lend a hand with the kids, plus he is so cute with them.  I have the BEST husband EVER!

My Mothers Day

My day started with breakfast in bed.  I can't believe what Kade made...fried french toast.  It was good, but didn't taste at all healthy.  I thought he forgot what day it was, but he woke me up by bringing me food.  Awww.  I figured that was all I was getting.  Mostly because Kade didn't have time to shop for me, but he is a sneaky fox Kade took my dishes away and went to get Drake up and dressed.  Then Kade brought Drake in the room and Drake was holding a little jewelry box, Kade was holding flowers.  It was really cute, I thought that they had forgotten me and in a last moment to redeem themselves they made me breakfast.  It was a fun and lazy day for me.  Kade took care of the kids practically by himself, except for feeding Addyson. I AM THE LUCKIEST MOM IN THE WORLD!

Thanks for making my day, love you guys!

Strange Sleeping

Yeah, so if you have looked at facebook you will see that Drake sleeps in strange positions.  He is like the energizer bunny, he keeps going and going.  When he finally runs out of gas, Drake drops to the ground.  There have been a couple of times when looking for him, I literally trip over him.  Yes, I have actually stepped on a sleeping boy, you can't help but laugh out loud.

Tenant Update

I am sad to say, we no longer have anyone living in the basement.  Kind of strange, I know.  But the last person that we had live with us, Beau was awesome.  Kade will miss his trusty, hardworking, sidekick, and I will miss an extra helping hand.  We will also miss having little Hannah  My kids really got attached to the both of them, and they made me remember how it was to be younger and so full of life.  Anyway, they are on to their next big adventure, so I guess we will be too.  So, if you know someone who wants to live in our basement who will occasionally babysit, cook, and clean let me know...there is an open position. LOL

17 Month old Drake (lots of pictures)

Some of the pictures below have been posted, but because I go so long in between posts it is hard for me to remember...so some are repeats.

What can I say about Drake?

My first born is getting big!  In less then a month he will be in nursery, WOW.   I am having so much fun watching him learn and grow.  He now has six teeth, four on top.  He is quite the babbler, and his vocabulary gets bigger all the time, I am one of the few that understands him :D  He is getting so good at walking.  Just lately (because it is warm) he has started to want me to put his shoes on...because that means he can go outside.  He sits by the door and cries if you open it and he can't go out.

Everything is a game to Drake.  He loves to play in the bath, dishwasher, toilet, and flour bucket.  All of the above are messy one way or another, so he likes it.  He loves to unload the dishwasher when I am trying to load it....but he thinks it is a game.  He laughs as he carries spoons down the hall.  Therefor I find utensils all over my home.
He loves to steal Addyson's bottle, she only gets one or two a day, but once I take it out of her mouth to burp her, it is gone.
He is really adorable and I am so glad he is so cute.  His personality is starting to come out and I am loving the playful toddler that he is.

Sadly I don't get the best pictures of him anymore because he never stops moving.  I wish I could set him down and do a photo shoot like I do with Addyson...that so wouldn't work for him.
